Sea otters

Meanest Animals in the world

Otters are undoubtedly one of the meanest animals on our list. Don’t be fooled by their charming appearance – these critters are stone-cold killers.

Although they are known for being cute and holding each other’s hands, their true nature is much more serious than that.

That is, they are apex predators. This means they have no natural predators, allowing them to roam free and cause chaos and fear in their prey. They are carnivores and eat up to 10 pounds of food per day to survive.

Doesn’t mean to be a carnivore though? Well, otters are willing to manipulate and kill other members of the same species to get food.

Even worse, when mating, men will impose themselves on females. Female otters have a disproportionately higher mortality rate than males, and experts attribute this to their gruesome mating ritual.

That is, a male otter will bite the female’s snout and place her head underwater – often drowning her or seriously injuring her in the process.

But perhaps the most disturbing fact about otters is that they are known to “mate” with deceased animals.

That’s right, furry mammals are known to exhibit necrophilia, even members of different species, like baby seals. Not so cute anymore, are they?

Dolphin

Another seemingly sweet mammal on our list of the meanest Animals is the dolphin. The beautiful, graceful creature is an inspiration for art and tattoos and a symbol of good luck, protection and support.

It’s all for naught, as these animals exhibit some disturbing behavior.

Like otters, dolphins will force themselves on other dolphins and on other animals – including humans.

However, unlike otters, which are usually solitary, dolphins converge on a female in a group and copulate with her, sometimes for days.

Finally, dolphins are also killers. In particular, they kill children, their own and those of other species.

They do this for a variety of reasons, revenge, food, and to prepare the mother for the next mating session, but they also kill for fun. Pretty mean stuff.

Seals

Another surprising meaning creature on our list is the seal. Apart from being quite intelligent, seals are also known to be cute with their amazing eyes and big bellies.

An internet sensation, these aquatic animals are much sadder than they seem.

In particular, they are demonic killers. Unlike other carnivores that quickly take down their prey, seals are not strong enough to kill quickly. Instead, they brutally beat their prey on the water until they die, usually penguins.

Not only that, but they will force the penguins before eating them. Additionally, there have been reports of seals being attacked (and even killed).

Ducks

Animals That Live on Land and Water

You may have noticed a trend on our list that most of the animals here are fierce and aggressive when they dare. The trend continues with ducks – popular poultry and one of the meanest animals out there.

These small and fast birds have an insatiable drive to mate. That is, males are very rough when mating. Women are often left injured, maimed, or even dead.

Like most dolphins, they will compulsively mate in groups – as other males will join in the fun if they see a female in the act of mating.

It is believed that about one in three duck mating incidents are based on coercing the female.

Another unfortunate fact is that the male duck’s reproductive organ is much larger and faster, making the process more painful for the female. Although women have adapted to these horrible organs, their mating ritual is still very cruel.

If that doesn’t mean enough, you’d be surprised to know that there have been cases of homosexual necrophilia in some duck species.

Chimpanzees

Meanest Animals in the world

Next on our list is another very familiar animal – the chimpanzee. Did you know that chimps and humans share about 99 percent of their DNA?

Knowing how aggressive, intimidating and terrifying humans can be – it should come as no surprise that chimpanzees exhibit similar behaviour.

Like humans, chimpanzees are omnivores, which makes their behavior a little more surprising than a true carnivore. In fact, chimps are very aggressive and violent primates, and males often brutalize, beat, and rape members of other groups.

Given their power, they can be quite dangerous to us as well. Chimp attacks on people, even those near to them, have been reported.

Chimp attacks leave prey disfigured, maimed or dead – and they will use their large teeth to mutilate anything in their path.

Geese

Last on our list of the world’s meanest animals is the infamous swan. Geese are often confused with the aforementioned ducks, as they share many similarities.

Geese, ducks and geese belong to the same Anatidae family. In general, geese are larger and more robust than ducks but are similar in average behavior.

Yes, you guessed it right. Geese are also known to aggressively force themselves on females like their relatives.

But that’s not all. Geese can be dangerous and aggressive to us too.

To protect their men and territory, they will not back down even when the intruders are dozens of times their size.

In fact, there have been numerous reports of these birds attacking humans and generally being small beasts.
