Cutest Foxes EVER! (Facts and Pictures)

As a child, I loved reading about the cutest foxes, and since growing up, we have had countless interactions with foxes. From reading about them in fairy tales to seeing them on TV, it’s no wonder they are one of the cutest creatures.

Foxes are cute, fast, mischievous and energetic. Some are willing to become docile, while others prefer to live a solitary life in the wild.

While many people want to adopt and raise them, it is best to leave them where they belong – in the wild. Some species are even protected by law in many countries, so this is another reason to appreciate them.

But that doesn’t stop us from swooning over their charm and cuteness!

In this article, we are going to list some of the cutest foxes around the world!

What Are The Cutest Foxes In The World?

Fennec Fox, Red Fox, Gray Fox, Darwin’s Fox, Arctic Fox, Corsac Fox, Bengal Fox, and Bat-eared Fox are some of the cutest foxes in the world.

Examples Of The Most Beautiful Foxes In The World

Fennec Fox

The first member of the list of the cutest foxes in the world is the Fennec Fox. In our eyes, beauty equals miniature; In this case, the fennec fox might just be the cutest fox in the world!

Well, well, size isn’t the only reason they’re so cute. But please take a moment and look at their thick, fluffy fur and big ears – oh gosh, cuteness overload!

The fennec fox is native to the northern Sahara – especially Morocco, Algeria and Egypt. These little darlings spend most of their lives in burrows under grasslands, making them difficult to spot.

Their primary sources of food in the wild include insects, small rodents, birds, and eggs. They have exceptional hearing, which helps them find prey underground.

In addition to feeding on live prey, they will also eat fruits, leaves and roots.

A female fox gives birth to 1 to 4 cubs. Their typical life expectancy is about 14 years in prison.

Did you know: These big-eared animals have the largest ears relative to the body size of any canid species!

Red Fox

Cutest Foxes EVER

Red foxes are spread throughout the Northern Hemisphere, so their populations are stable, making them the least concerned about extinction.

Foxes only live for around four years in the wild and are roughly 30 inches tall as adults. However, they live three times as long in captivity as they do in the wild.

These stand out due to their stunning orange fur, and many of you would agree that they are the cutest foxes, don’t you think?

Because of their omnivorous diet, red foxes prefer to live in forests and near human settlements and help control other insect and rodent populations. They also help seeds germinate with their food.

Did you know: The red fox is considered the most intelligent species of fox!

Gray Fox

Cutest Foxes EVER! (Facts and Pictures)

This beautiful-looking fox is native to North and Central America. They prefer to live in the wild – mostly in forests and thickets.

As their name suggests, their entire body is covered in brown fur, but they also have reddish skin on their legs and neck.

Generally speaking, these foxes are amiable, but because they become excited easily, it can be challenging to locate them.

Gray foxes are omnivorous and prey on small mammals and rodents, while sometimes eating fruits and nuts. They take shelter in rock crevices and hollow tree barks and hunt at night.

Unlike other foxes, they have oval-shaped pupils rather than slit-like ones.

These cute fox breeds live up to 6 years in the wild, but life expectancy increases to 15 years in captivity.

Did you know: Gray foxes are expert tree climbers, which is why they are sometimes called cat foxes.

Darwin’s Fox

You’ll be reminded of the renowned naturalist by the name. Darwin’s fox is a beautiful animal that lives in the temperate rainforests of the southern hemisphere – you can see most of them in Chile.

These cutest foxes are relatively small – growing up to 21 inches, including a 9-inch bushy tail. Their fur is black, and they prefer open spaces and grasslands, hunting at dusk and dawn.

Like most foxes, they are omnivores, and their diet includes many small mammals, insects, seeds and fruits.

Because of their wild nature, it is not a good idea to think of them as pets.

Did you know: Darwin’s foxes are a critically endangered species, with less than 1,000 individuals left in the wild!

Arctic Fox

Cutest Foxes EVER! (Facts and Pictures)

Arctic fox, snow fox, and arctic fox – whatever the name suggests, it has to be one of the cutest foxes and probably one of the cutest animals out there.

They have thick fur, short noses, and short legs. Winter animals are lone predators who prey on lemmings, squirrels, birds, and even fish.

Although not an endangered species, they are difficult to spot as they tend to live solitary lives. Like Darwin’s foxes, they live mostly in treeless open areas.

Apart from being beautiful, arctic foxes are incredibly hardy creatures and can withstand temperatures as low as -60℃. They can be found in some of the world’s coldest places.

Did you know: During the summer, arctic foxes shed most of their fur and gain a thin layer of brown and gray fur. Again, when winter comes, their fur thickens, and the brown color changes to snow white.

Corsac Fox

Cutest Foxes EVER! (Facts and Pictures)

These cute fox species prefer to live in semi-deserts and deserts. Corsac foxes, or simply Corsac, are native to Central Asia.

Compared to other foxes, they are medium in size and have gray or yellowish fur. The color of the fur helps them to easily camouflage and attack their prey.

Unlike most foxes, they are classified as carnivores. Their primary food source is rodents. However, sometimes they attack and eat kittens.

Because they live with very little water, they depend on the moisture of their prey.

Corsac foxes are relatively friendly animals. Although they are banned as pets (in most countries), they are said to be the easiest species to potty train.

Did you know: Corsac foxes are one of the most social fox species, and some individuals are known to form groups and live together!

Bengal Fox

Although the species is named the Bengal fox, it lives in a wide range of areas in the foothills of the Himalayas, Nepal and the Terai in parts of southeastern India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

The Bengal fox is a cute little fox that grows up to 28 inches. Their coat varies in color, but most foxes are silvery-gray.

They have pointed ears and long legs with bushy tails. Bengal foxes spend the day hiding or sheltering in burrows and crevices and come out to hunt only in the afternoon.

This cute species is also quite hospitable toward people, thus it occasionally dwells close to populated areas.

Bengal foxes are also very social – sometimes, they live in close contact with other families.

Herbivores and opportunists eat a wide variety of food, including insects such as termites, beetles, ants, birds and small rodents.

Foxes also emit an array of different vocalizations, which are effective in determining what mood they are in. They are not afraid of humans, making themselves easy targets for hunting.

Did you know: Bengal foxes construct numerous rooms, exits, entrances, and escape routes for their elaborate dens.

Bat-eared Fox

Cutest Foxes EVER! (Facts and Pictures)

The last member in the list of the cutest foxes in the world is the bat-eared fox. A bat may look scary, but this species of fox will surely melt your heart. These cute foxes are found in the African savanna.

Like the Corsac fox, they have adapted to live in vast thickets where water supplies are scarce. Their large, bat-like ears give them their name.

These foxes are of medium size. Adults grow about 25 inches from head to body and have a bushy tail about 19 inches long.

Their fur is dark gray or black, giving them a brown appearance. Bat-eared foxes commonly feed on ants, beetles and termites and effectively help reduce termite populations. They also eat crickets, grasshoppers, scorpions and spiders.

Like most foxes, they are most active in the dark while they spend their days resting or hiding. Because they live in extremely hot conditions, their large ears help regulate body temperature.

Bat-eared foxes are also said to make relatively good pets. The owners of these beautiful foxes claim that the trained ones behave like dogs.

Did you know: Bat-eared foxes are one of the fastest land animals in the world, reaching speeds of up to 70 miles per hour.
