2020 IN REVIEW: The Happenings And Lessons

As we approach towards new Year’s eve, some people are ready with their new year’s resolutions and some are afraid to plan the future-considering what went down in 2020.

This year was a catastrophe for almost everyone on planet earth, although not everyone had the same circumstances or the privileges 2020 did put everyone on the same level where they felt insecure about their future, felt fear for the first time or realized that they are not supreme in their entity and felt human- helpless at the hands of this universe and a virus.

Consequently, the world ceased- everything felt meaningless- tourist sites were out of magic, people and their livelihoods came at a halt and the world’s economy got a blow- like never.

However, the economics of it cannot outweigh the emotional trauma people felt as they were locked inside their homes, the ones working away from home had to be back, students had to work from whatever little resources they had. The lines between the wealthy and the poor were widened as some kids took classes from the comfort of their beds and some had to climb mountains- quite literally to participate in their lectures that too, with a bleak connection.

This was also a point of reflection for politicians, as to how some provinces are running with bare minimum – case in point were students from Gilgit and Baluchistan who suffered because of the negligence of the previous and current government- the former failed to allocate resources and the latter failed to take quick actions.

Above all, some people lost their loved ones and could not even get a chance to say goodbye, the sick had no one to hold on to, they had to suffer both physically and mentally.

People had to grieve from afar, human connection- human touch was rare and so was a hope which led a majority of the world’s population into anxiety and depression as they felt they had no control over life.

Despite all the adversities that 2020 came with, this year also made people learn the harsher truths of life and forced them to reflect. One of the most valuable lessons that can be put on the top is value- the value of life, family, friends, and resources.

Secondly Gratitude

Learning to be grateful for whatever we have and making the best of the present because nothing in life comes with a guarantee and we as humans should learn to live in the moment rather than focusing on what is coming next and what has happened in the past.

Altogether, the worst is behind us and according to researchers, the world will return to the “normal” around 2022, as vaccines roll out to the wider majority and we develop herd immunity, until then all we can do is be hopeful for a better 2021 and do our part to maintain tranquility within our little world.

Finally

Hot or Cold, Weather Has Little Effect on Corona Spread

Wearing a MASK! Is still necessary because the little monster- COVID-19 is still in action, mutating with time hence the world needs to hold on to the precautionary measures until a larger chunk of the world’s population gets vaccinated.
